Meet the Inventor
Maamar (Mars) Saoulel is the creator and inventor of SETO, a strategy board game born from a passion for creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking. An artist by nature and an author by hobby, he has always enjoyed developing original ideas, exploring new concepts, and thinking beyond conventional boundaries.
The original concept for SETO began more than twenty years ago as a very different game. Over time, the project evolved through countless revisions, refinements, and redesigns. After being set aside for many years, the idea was revived with a fresh vision. During the past few years, Maamar returned to the project, carefully reimagining every aspect of the game, simplifying its mechanics, refining its strategic depth, and transforming it into the modern version of SETO.
The name SETO reflects the game's ultimate objective: to be the first player to reach seven points. It represents the culmination of years of dedication, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
Today, SETO stands as an original strategy game designed to challenge the mind, reward thoughtful planning, and bring people of all ages together around a shared love of strategy. For Maamar, this is only the beginning of a journey to create timeless games that inspire learning, competition, and meaningful connections across generations.
